IT Decisions Show To Deliver New One-Stop-Shop For Buyers Of Corporate And Government Technology
Revolution Events, NCC and BCS team up to launch a new kind of IT show, on 23rd and 24th June at the NEC, Birmingham.
Revolution Events, one of the UK’s leading organisers of innovative business events, today launches IT Decisions, a brand new multi-focus event designed to help businesses and government make important IT investment decisions. Held in partnership with National Computing Centre and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, IT Decisions takes place on 23rd and 24th June 2010, in The Pavilion at the NEC Birmingham.
With the economic downturn placing pressure on resources, corporate and government IT departments are being asked to make shrewd decisions to ensure maximum IT effectiveness. Training and travel budgets are also under intense scrutiny, meaning it is no longer viable for senior IT executives to visit numerous single-focus or niche events every year in order to keep up with the latest developments.
Using rich educational content and a wide range of independent advisors, IT Decisions aims to provide an annual one-stop-shop designed to identify and explain the most important technologies shaping corporate and public sector IT systems – both now and in the near future.
"IT Decisions is a culmination of years of experience working with commercial and government organisations at IT events across Europe," comments Rich Tribe, Managing Director at Revolution Events. “We’ve responded to feedback from IT Directors and senior managers to select the key trends currently making the most impact on important IT investment decisions. With themes changing each year in response to the industry, the result will be a highly time-effective event that directly addresses what IT departments need to know, without any vested interest in hyping the ‘next big thing’."
“The Institute is pleased to support IT Decisions 2010, both as an exhibitor, but also by providing expert speakers from our large pool of Institute members, many of whom are well-regarded in their own right as industry-leaders, especially in the areas of green IT and security, among many others,” adds John Orton, Membership Director at BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT. “Because of the direct impact the IT profession has on society at large, we believe senior IT professionals in all sectors should be aware of the latest industry trends to ensure that people are enabled by the use of technology."
Stephen Fox, Director at National Computing Centre, says, "IT Decisions aims to directly address the issues that IT departments really want to know about in a way that is relevant, independent, practical and time-effective. The National Computing Centre promotes the effective use of IT in the UK through our independent research, analysis, and guidance from our members and the wider IT community. It was clear that the interests of IT departments would benefit significantly from us sharing our collective knowledge together at this year’s event. We are delighted to be speaking and continuing the great work we both do to improve the effective use of IT in the UK."
Key Themes for 2010 include:
- Unified Communications & VOIP
- Virtualisation, Storage & Data Centre Optimisation
- Cloud Computing & Software-as-a-service
- Web 2.0, Collaboration & Messaging
- Secure Systems Development
- Green IT & Corporate Compliance
The two-day event will also run a special stream of free FastForward seminars, showcasing emerging technologies for the next three to five years and assessing their likely chance of wide scale adoption. Each theme will be supported by a comprehensive range of educational seminars, advice clinics, supplier briefings and demonstrations, led by independent experts from a variety of industry organisations, government agencies, end-users and industry giants such as IBM, VMWare, CISCO, RSA and BT.
IT Decisions is free to attend to senior IT decision makers, directors and managers.
