Ian Brooks

Sustainability Leader for IBM's work at Defra

Ian Brooks is an IBM consultant with a particular interest in sustainability and Green IT. Starting out with Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers, he then worked for several years with IBM's outsourcing teams developing shareholder value benefits cases for IBM outsourcing propositions. Over the course of this work he saw that carbon costs and corporate responsibility benefits were having an increasing impact on shareholder value.

Since May 2008 he has been working with IBM's team providing IT and business services to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), including being a member of the Defra Green ICT Feasibility Study group. He is now the sustainability leader for IBM at Defra.
